THE COMBINATION OF TRADITION AND HOLIDAYS
During the weekend, November 30th and December 1st, students
of grade 2/2 of the “Dimitrije Todorović Kaplar” Primay School, with their
teacher Gordana Janevska, participated in the now traditional tourist event
under the slogan “Tradition to Europe”.
This event gave students the opportunity to participate with
their works at a sales stand with the theme “New Year”. The hardworking
children of this class were delighted with the activities they will implement
during November. As much as they look forward to the upcoming holiday, they are
also happy because they have the opportunity to actively participate in its
preparation and participation in the event with their own efforts.
First, we discussed what activities we should implement and
what we can do. After adopting several proposals, we agreed on what we needed
for the work. The students brought the necessary materials from home. Their
suggestion was that parents join us in one of the lessons when we make
decorations. The parents gladly accepted the suggestion and responded to the
invitation. We reserved the free activities lesson for socializing with parents
and implementing a workshop on making decorations. The students exchanged ideas
among themselves and, very motivated, made decorations. They enjoyed coloring,
chopping, cutting, gluing and making imagined decorations. Colorful papers,
glittering ribbons, and strings were used to create Christmas trees, ornaments
and decorations. They were very successful and it was a real pleasure to watch
them work. They cooperated and helped each other, borrowed materials and
equipment, and were happy to have the help of their parents.
In the art lessons, the students showed creativity,
imagination and artistic skills in creating greeting cards. They used
previously acquired knowledge because they encountered making greeting cards in
the first grade.
Our decorations and greeting cards were on the school's
sales stand in the Cultural Center. At the scheduled time, the students sold
various items from all the school students who participated in the
implementation of these activities at the stand. They were real entrepreneurs.
Part of the money earned will be used to purchase didactic
materials, and part will go to humanitarian purposes.
