TWIGI AND HER CHILDREN
Our cute friends - turtles

Our Twigi was lonely. We decided to have some fun and make little turtles out of recycled materials. These turtles are her children.

Before we started making little turtles, we talked about turtles. We learned that turtles inhabited the Earth before dinosaurs evolved, and they are still here. There are more than three hundred different species of turtles in the world, seven of which are marine, 180 freshwater, while the rest live on land. Since 2000, World Turtle Day has been celebrated on May 23.

They live on all continents, and are recognizable by their shell, longevity, and slow movement. They range in size from 10 centimeters to over one meter.

They are herbivores and carnivores, and what they have in common is that they hide in their shell from danger and cold.

In our area, the most abundant are water and forest turtles, which enter hibernation during the winter.

As the temperature drops, so does their body temperature and their organs begin to slowly fall asleep. Enzymes do not work, they do not eat and simply start to sleep. The heart rate is reduced to a total minimum, and breathing is almost non-existent.

In many cultures, the turtle is considered a symbol of wisdom. In the story "The Tortoise and the Hare", she outsmarted the rabbit and reached the goal first.

Our next fun task is to name the little turtles.

ECO-FRIENDLY - collaborative poster work in Canva

No creature on this planet is here by chance, every creature, even the smallest one, has a very important role and a whole series of others depend on it.
Our final poster represents the importance of plants, animals and especially insects for the survival of the PLANET.

The survival of healthy ecosystems, the survival of people and animals, the survival of the world as we know it depends on BEES.

Bees have been declared the most important creatures on Earth and are on the list of endangered species. They are irreplaceable guardians of our planet. Their role in pollinating plants and preserving ecosystems is very important. By supporting bees, we not only preserve these precious insects, but also ensure the preservation of our planet for future generations.

People need to start caring about the protection of these valuable creatures more than they have done so far.

World Bee Day - is celebrated on May 20th.

LADYBUGS are very popular and useful insects. They are natural enemies of many harmful insects, feeding on plant and scale insects.

BUTTERFLIES are not only symbols of natural beauty but also key indicators of ecosystem health and biodiversity. Interestingly, after bees, butterflies are the second most numerous pollinators. They also play an important role in the food chain.

World Butterfly Day - celebrated on May 28.

STORKS are important for the ecosystem, because they feed on insects and small rodents. One stork can eat 44 small rodents within an hour.

The food chain in nature is a system of living organisms that feed on each other in order to survive. Each link in that chain is of exceptional importance, because the survival of the entire chain, that is, the entire living world, depends on it.

Before we made the carousel, we talked about wind energy or aeolian energy, which will never run out and does not pollute the environment. The advantages of getting electricity from the wind are that the wind is free and there is no environmental pollution.
There are not many particularly windy areas in Serbia, which is why no wind farms have been built yet. However, it is believed that windmills could be built on Stara Planina to produce electricity.
We have concluded that energy is not in abundance. That is why we need to use alternative or renewable energy sources. The survival of future generations will depend on how and in what way we treat it, energy.
The obligation of all of us who live on this planet is to save energy. By saving energy, we save money. By using alternative or renewable energy sources, we create conditions for a healthy, ecological environment.

 PROJECT LOGO DESIGN

After discussing the elements for the logo, we started working on it. The elements of our logo are: The sun as the driving force of everything in nature because it gives us light and warmth. The leaf symbolizes life because it gives us oxygen. The ladybug is a symbol of happiness and has a very important role when we talk about the ecosystem. The heart is a symbol of children's love for nature, which they enjoy. Blue symbolizes air and water, and green symbolizes nature. And finally, we added the trademark of our project – the eTwinning logo.
